I have been wondering many times why African restaurants were not so popular in Atlanta.
Why does "African food" has such a bad name? Why Asian or Mexican food have been adopted and trusted for so long?
Africa is such a large continent with so many ethnics and its food is as diverse as its population.
My parents were born in West Africa than emigrated in Europe in the 60's . Daddy was a teacher , mom a nurse. They had a very strong African family (and friends) network : There were a lot, I mean a lot of parties. They also had a lot of French friends and family too: in fact my Godmother and Godfather happen to be French from French descents.
The African food we were eating was the cousin of the original. It was spicy but not to spicy for our "french" palates , and we were not eating meat that we were not familiar to.
Now I am working as a personal chef in Atlanta and I am loving it because I am on a mission.
I will use this blog to share my recipes every week. Of course I am open to any suggestion.
